That no one needs to be alone, sun, sand and solitude, and leave a good clean view (3 poems)

That no one needs to be alone

His voice is heard throughout the land.

We just … we hear him call.

So … patiently … sit and wait

So that we understand

That all you seek is to be known

Know that it is here.

We just need to respond in our own way

That no one needs to be alone.

Sun, sand and loneliness

I walked into the desert … the canyon walls my only companion.

The wind was still, and therefore my heart beat full of wild abandon.

The warm sun gently caressed my sliding form and played among white clouds,

Because enthusiasm is encouraged more and love of life is allowed.

I whispered “thank you” to what you know and hear,

Then he traversed those miles of sand without thinking of fear.

A visitor in time I am, a child in the desert

Who wants to learn what some may despise and see as loneliness?

But vision is a fragile gift and it is given to you in many ways,

So I have seen a lot of beauty in these lovely sunny days.

This loneliness fills my cup to flow in sparkling puddles,

Ans sometimes I sing out loud, a happy lonely fool.

The time has come and life is gone … its footprints in the sand,

Leaving voices in shadows not left by beast or man.

Because life has spent its gold coin on the treasures it left behind,

A small grain of ancient sand is still etched in my mind.

I wandered through the tall rich forests and the hills of green green,

When the waters gleamed abundant and cool, and everyone was clean.

Then came the beasts and life hummed with the sound of hooves and roars,

And when I close my eyes again … I can still hear so much more.

Shadows bloom across the rocks as the breeze blows gently,

And the sand fills my tracks in time … a playful joke of a child.

I stop and look to know my way and read the changing sky,

Because clouds can come and hide the sun in the blink of an eye.

To know and respect her quickly … this constantly changing land,

And follow the young coyote with joy across the sand.

Because loneliness is welcome in a world crazed by speed,

And I love to roam … sowing the seed of peace.

I don’t miss the madness of man’s most careless career,

Because I am part of the sun and the sand and the loneliness …

From this wild and sacred place.

And leave a good clean sight

Respect for life … in many ways … begins with caring for everyone,

All things that walk, stand, or fly … all things that grow or crawl.

Such respect … a way of life … begins with your eyes open,

Eyes to see, hear and feel … both laughter and crying.

We have an obligation … a gift that each one must find,

To find our greatest service … of heart, act and mind.

The world requires our service … like us, live and breathe,

And everything we do … a brand is what we leave behind.

Every act, thought and speech … no matter what we do,

We do it respectfully with kindness … and we leave a good clean sight.
